How does NUTRISCOPE work?
The NUTRISCOPE functions as a spectrometer, miniaturised into a pocket-sized, robust, and easy-to-use device. In practice, simply scan the leaves of your crops (wheat, maize, rapeseed, etc.) and expose them to a beam of light emitted by the spectrometer.
This beam covers the infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV), and visible ranges. Part of the light is absorbed by the plant tissue, while the rest is reflected back to the device. This interaction creates a unique spectral signature that reflects the physiological state of the plant.
By analysing this signature and comparing it to a database of thousands of calibrated samples, the NUTRISCOPE can instantly predict the mineral status and pH-RedOx balance of your crop. The built-in artificial intelligence enables quick, reliable, and repeatable readings via an app — directly in the field and without damaging the plant. Measurements can be made on leaves in the field or on around fifteen uprooted plants with roots.
What measurements does the NUTRISCOPE provide?
The NUTRISCOPE provides a complete crop health diagnosis in seconds, using five key indicators:
- pH: evaluates the acidity or alkalinity of tissues, a direct reflection of proton concentration.
- RedOx: measures oxidation or reduction potential, linked to electron concentration, and a reliable marker of plant vitality.
- Chlorophyll: precise estimate of chlorophyll content, essential for photosynthesis and growth.
- Brix: measurement of sugar concentration, a direct indicator of photosynthetic activity.
- Total mineral conductivity: reflects the plant’s ability to absorb and mobilise nutrients.
In addition, an in-depth analysis of the complete mineral composition of the plant:
- All macronutrients (N, P, K, S, Ca).
- A wide range of micronutrients (Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mo...).
